If you are thinking it is tough or requires deep knowledge of CODING then probably you are wrong. There may be different ways to do so but I'll show you simplest method that requires no knowledge of coding, I figured out easily cause I have basic knowledge of coding HTML.
Just fall along with me and you will be able to create tab/pages on blogger for customized posting. I have described it with steps.
Step1:- Go to the "blog dashboard" of blog you desire to display tabs/pages on. Then go to "layout" then "add Gadget" called "labels" and "pages" to it.(*this step is for one who don't have labels on posts categorized under them and "pages" gadget.)
Step2:- Now you may edit your posts and assign them Labels. Each time you post now you should define labels to them, the labels to which category you want to display them to.(*this step is only for the one who don't have posts under defined labels.)
Step3:- Now view your blog you must see "labels" displayed like below in my case. Click on labels each time you click you'll see all posts with the same labels. Like below.....
Step5:- We are now on last step of creating tabs/pages. Go to layout and open "pages gadget" and now go ahead and click on "add external link.
Step6:- Now view your blog you have nicely tabs/pages displayed.
The task is not finished yet. I showed you how to add tabs/pages on your blog. Yeah it was cool having tabs displayed and providing your visitors a far better access to your posts.
But still we are not done, when you click on those tabs you see a message below your tabs and that ruins your impression of having professional blog like tabs/pages.
Before we proceed solving problem, let's see difference between "real pages" and "linked label pages" for appearance. Shown below:-
Real Page |
Page created using Label |
Now I'm going to show you how to avoid that "Awful looking" MSG "Showing posts with label XYZ . Show all posts" from your blog from appearing.
It's incredibly simple. Just follow along with me and you'll be able to remove "Showing posts with label XYZ . Show all posts" msg from appearing anywhere in the blog.
(NOTE:-I recommend you to back up your template before making any changing to it.)
Step1:- Log in to your blogger and open HTML of your blog under "Template".
Edit HTML |
Step2:- Find "<b:includable id=status-message" in the HTML code. Just press "Ctrl+F" and paste "<b:includable id=status-message" into search box and hit enter.
(*make sure you are clicked in the HTML code Box.)
Step3:- Now just put the whole thing that makes message appear into comments by putting them between "<!-- " & "-->".
